Dog Puzzle Session Too Difficult? Make the First Step Easier
A food game should provide a manageable challenge. If your dog walks away or starts attacking the equipment, reconsider the setup rather than adding more difficult steps.

Observe before intervening
Notice what the dog actually does: sniffing, nudging, staring, chewing, or leaving. Avoid treating a single session as a measure of intelligence. Your dog may prefer a different activity, a quieter place, or another time of day. You do not need to coax them into every product you purchase.
Reduce one variable
Choose a simpler action, a more suitable product, or a familiar food allowed in the dog’s diet. Stay nearby and keep the area free of competing pets. If the manufacturer provides an introductory method, follow that rather than modifying the toy or removing parts that are meant to remain attached.
Know when to put it away
Stop when frustration replaces relaxed interest. Check for damage and store the toy until another supervised session. A moving dispenser such as the KONG Wobbler offers a different format from a sliding puzzle, but it is still optional. Persistent chewing or swallowing attempts are reasons to seek a more suitable choice.
PRODUCT TO CONSIDER
KONG Wobbler

A food-dispensing toy for supervised use; it is not a chew toy.
