Three-Minute Dog Training Sessions: Prepare Before You Start
A short practice session can fit into a busy day when the setup is ready. Choose one achievable task and make it easy to finish while both of you are still comfortable.

Choose one clear goal
Write down the behavior you are practicing and what a small successful step looks like. Work in a suitable quiet space and have the rewards ready before asking your dog to participate. Do not use a short session to rush a difficult or frightening situation.
Prepare the reward kit
Bring only what you need, keep the food appropriate for the dog, and include it within the feeding plan. A wearable pouch can help you avoid searching for a reward at the right moment. Compare access and cleaning rather than assuming the most expensive pouch will improve your timing.
Finish with a useful note
Record one observation after the session: what was easy, where distraction appeared, or what you will simplify next time. AVSAB supports reward-based methods; avoid punishment or frightening tools. If progress stalls, ask a qualified trainer for help. The point of a short session is a manageable learning opportunity, not a fixed deadline for your dog to perform.
